MICHAEL BOLTON - JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy To The World lyrics

Joy to the world! The Lord is come.
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart
Prepare Him room
And Saints and angels sing
And Saints and angels sing
And Saints and Saints and angels sing

Joy to the world, the Saviour reigns
Let Saints their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, Repeat, the sounding joy

Joy to the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders and wonders of His love

No more will sin and sorrow grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He'll come and make the blessings flow
Far as the curse was found,
Far as the curse was found,
Far as, far as the curse was found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And gives to nations proof
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love;
And wonders of His love;
And wonders, wonders of His love.

Rejoice! Rejoice in the Most High,
While Israel spreads abroad
Like stars that glitter in the sky,
And ever worship God,
And ever worship God,
And ever, and ever worship God.

The words and lyrics of the old Christmas carols "Joy to the World" were written in 1719 by Isaac Watts. John W's father was a non-conformist and so were his extreme views who was imprisoned twice. His father's influence over Isaac became apparent when one chooses to attend the Academy Nonconformist in Stoke Newington in preference to a university. Watts was ordained as pastor of an independent congregation.

"Joy to the World" is one of the best known and most beloved Christmas carols. It contains a message of joy and love the sin and the replacement of pain. It also can be construed about life after the second coming of Christ. The anthem is important for its widespread use in all Christian denominations and the musical stature of the people who created it.

One of the best known recordings of "Joy to the World" is an instrumental version of conductor Percy Faith. First recorded in 1954 for his "Music of Christmas" LP (Columbia CL 588), was re-recorded in stereo in 1959 as Columbia 8176.
